One of the greatest tax savers available to businesses and and investors is Internal Revenue Code Section 1031. This statute allows investors to sell an investment property or properties and exchange them for other investment properties of “like-kind”, while deferring the payment of any capital gains tax until sometime in the future.
The same holds true for business property that is traded for other business property.
